Days 2-4

Day 5

Praia da Vitoria, Azores, Portugal

Around 850 miles west of Portugal, the Azores are an archipelago of nine Portuguese-speaking islands scattered across the Atlantic waters, known for their dramatic and verdant landscapes.

Portuguese navigators discovered the first of the Azores in 1432, although 2,000 Flemish settlers were among its early immigrants, and their influence can still be seen in the windmills that dot the landscape on some islands. Praia de Vitoria is located on Terceira, an island whose name means ‘third’ in reference to the order in which it was discovered.

Day 6

Ponta Delgada,Azores, Portugal

The Azores rise from the Atlantic Ocean, 900 miles from the Portuguese coast. The largest city in the Azores, Ponta Delgada is on Sao Miguel and is named after the volcanic lands it sits proudly upon.

This Atlantic stepping-stone also claims to produce the world’s finest pineapples. If that’s not an invitation to try one, we don’t know what is.

Days 8-9

Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

Step off your cruise ship and into a little piece of Portuguese paradise in the archipelago of Madeira, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Enchanting towns and villages, breath-taking landscapes, a spectacular array of unique flora, and delicious local wines are awaiting your discovery on a cruise to the Portuguese islands of Madeira.

You’ll dock in the capital city of Funchal, an area bustling with bars and restaurants that radiate local charm. From here, you can explore further into the unique Madeira countryside, where imposing mountainous slopes give way to luscious rainforests and vast moorlands.

Day 10

Day 11

Leixoes (tours to Porto), Portugal

From Leixoes you can visit picture-perfect Porto, and let your inner photographer loose on this city full of great character. Your camera roll will no doubt feature the signature blue and white tiles.

Porto’s signature ceramics feature perhaps most beautifully in the exteriors of the Carmo and Capela das Almas churches. Try to fit in the Ribiera district and the iron Dom Luis Bridge.

Day 12

Vigo (tours to Santiago de Compostela), Spain

On the northeast coast of Spain, the vibrant Galician city of Vigo homes rich birdlife, beautiful beaches, and lush mountain landscapes.

Where industry meets culture, this forgotten city is as well known for its thriving fishing port and canning efforts as it is for neoclassical churches, medieval settlements, and Roman ruins. Join the thousands who have already visited this coastal escape and experience the thrill first-hand.
